At Bex Design we have extensive experience with both screen and digital printing onto Lexan™ polycarbonate film.
Screen printing represents the highest proportion of our work, but our digital work is growing rapidly as we are one of the very few companies in the UK who are able to offer high definition, full colour digital printing onto Lexan™ and other high performance polycarbonate films.
Our ability to do this is made possible by the fact that we were the first company in the UK to purchase the Jetrix LX5 LED UV printer, an investment which gives us unsurpassed capability and quality when printing digitally onto Lexan™.
Lexan™ polycarbonate film is a high quality, tough, dimensionally stable and heat-resistant material ideally suited to a number of graphic and industrial applications. It is available in a range of thicknesses with textured, polished or hard-coated surfaces. High clarity and ease of printing and finishing ensures that Lexan™ is the ideal solution for reverse printed graphics, overlays, nameplates, high performance labels and fascia panels etc.
One of the major advantages of Lexan™ is that it is very strong, being almost unbreakable and much stronger than other transparent sheet materials of the same thicknesses. This makes it an ideal choice for backlit signage and panels, retail and point of sale displays.
Although very strong in terms of impact, polycarbonate is prone to scratching which is why grades of Lexan™ polycarbonate are available with a hard coat surface to improve resistance to abrasion. These hard coat materials can only be reverse printed onto the non-hard coated side of the material which further enhances the product’s durability.
